The part-time position of Fire Safety Officer
is hereby created.
The Fire Safety Officer shall be responsible
for all facets of the Fire Department Written Respiratory Protection
Program as required under the PEOSH Standards for Firefighters (N.J.A.C.
12:100-10.10). The Fire Safety Officer will develop written detailed
instructions covering each of the basic elements in the program as
well as other duties that may be assigned to this office.
The salary shall be determined and provided
for within the annual salary ordinance.
A.
The Fire Safety Officer shall be appointed by the
Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council and shall
hold office for the term of one year from January 1 and until a successor
shall have been appointed and qualified.
B.
In case of a vacancy, the appointment shall be filled
for the remainder of the current term.
