Pursuant to the provisions contained in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146, the Township Committee of the Township of Hamilton, County of Atlantic, State of New Jersey, does hereby alter the existing Office of Township Tax Assessor to provide that such position shall be filled by the appointment of a single individual by the Township Committee.
The Office of Tax Assessor of the Township of Hamilton is hereby designated an appointed office, and the Tax Assessor shall be appointed by the Township Committee. Said office shall be filled by the appointment of one person.
The term of office of the Tax Assessor of Hamilton Township shall be four years, beginning the first day of July next following his appointment. A vacancy due to other than the expiration of the term shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term.
The salary of the Tax Assessor of Hamilton Township shall be established by ordinance.[1]

Any person appointed to the Office of Tax Assessor of Hamilton Township shall possess, prior to assuming the duties of office, all qualifications established by the laws of the State of New Jersey and any regulations adopted pursuant thereto.
The duties of the Tax Assessor of Hamilton Township shall include, but not be limited to, the assessing of property in the Township of Hamilton and as otherwise provided by law.
The Tax Assessor shall be appointed, other than for an unexpired term, at least 60 days prior to the commencement of his term of office.
