A.
Certain areas are designated as fire lanes to permit
accessibility, ingress, egress and passage of fire and other emergency
equipment, in areas along side of and leading to certain public and
private buildings and facilities, including, but not limited to, libraries,
shopping centers and stores, bowling alleys, indoor and outdoor theaters,
roller rinks, hospitals, churches, swimming pools, restaurants, diners
and drive-in emporiums, garages, buildings, storage buildings and
facilities used as and for public offices, treatment centers, prisons,
jails, apartments, condominiums, duplexes, dwelling complexes and
other uses or facilities which involve the parking of a sufficient
number of motor vehicles to make necessary such regulations in and
of parking areas to permit passage of fire and other emergency vehicles
for the health, welfare and safety of persons and properties in case
of fire or other emergency.
B.
Fire and emergency access lanes may include, but are
not limited to, "No Parking or Standing" areas, traffic directional
lanes and areas designated solely for pedestrian traffic.

Said fire and emergency access lanes shall be in those
locations and of sufficient design as may be reasonably required by
the public safety and welfare. The purpose of these lanes is to guarantee
unimpaired ingress and egress in and around public parking areas and
other buildings in the event of fire or other emergency for police,
fire and other emergency vehicles. Said lanes shall be installed by
the property owner, with acceptable signs and paint on the pavement
provided by said property owner and installed and maintained by property
owner.
D.
The Police Department for the Township of Hamilton
shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the department of the Township
charged with inspection and enforcement of fire prevention of the
Township of Hamilton.
No person, firm or corporation or any of their
agents or employees shall leave standing or cause to be parked any
vehicle in any of the aforementioned lanes or cause any other obstruction
of these designated areas. No person shall park, stop or leave standing
any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, in these areas.
For any violation of the provisions of this
article, the offender shall be liable and shall pay to the Township
of Hamilton a penalty of not more than $200.
