There is hereby established the office of Deputy
Mayor of the Township of Hillsborough.
There shall be elected at the annual meeting
of the Township Committee of the Township of Hillsborough, or at some
subsequent meeting of the Township Committee, one of their number
as Deputy Mayor.
The Deputy Mayor shall, in the absence or disability
of the Mayor, preside at the meetings of the Township Committee of
the Township of Hillsborough and shall perform and discharge all duties
otherwise to be performed and discharged by the Mayor of the Township
of Hillsborough.
The term of office of the Deputy Mayor shall
terminate as of 12:00 midnight on the 31st day of December of the
year in which he is elected as such Deputy Mayor.
