There is hereby created the separate offices of Assistant Building Inspector and Clerk to the Building Inspector. The Assistant Building Inspector and the Clerk to the Building Inspector shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Township Committee.
The Assistant Building Inspector shall assist the Building Inspector in the performance of his functions and duties and shall do such work and fulfill such assignments as directed by the Building Inspector.
The Clerk to the Building Inspector shall fulfill such assignments and do such work as directed by the Building Inspector and as required by law, and the Clerk to the Building Inspector shall assist in the administrative functions of the Building Inspector.
There is hereby created the separate offices of Clerk to the Tax Assessor and Clerk to the Tax Collector for the Township of Hillsborough. The Clerk to the Tax Assessor and the Clerk to the Tax Collector shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the Township Committee.
The Clerk to the Tax Assessor shall fulfill such administrative functions of the Tax Assessor as assigned by the Tax Assessor and shall do such work as directed by the Tax Assessor and as required by law and as is consistent with the efficient administration of the office of Tax Assessor.
The Clerk to the Tax Collector shall fulfill such administrative functions of the Tax Collector as assigned by the Tax Collector and shall do such work as directed by the Tax Collector and as required by law and as is consistent with the efficient administration of the office of Tax Collector.
The positions of Assistant Building Inspector, Clerk to the Building Inspector, Clerk to the Tax Assessor and Clerk to the Tax Collector shall be appointed for a term of one year, commencing on January 1 and ending on December 31 of each year. The term of the first appointee for each position aforesaid shall commence upon appointment following final passage and publication of this article and end on December 31, 1973.

The Assistant Building Inspector, Clerk to the Building Inspector, Clerk to the Tax Assessor and Clerk to the Tax Collector shall receive such compensation as is limited by the Salary Ordinance[1] and set by resolution, as both may be amended from time to time.
