There is hereby created and established a utilities authority for the Township of Hillsborough, in the County of Somerset, New Jersey, under the corporate name of "Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority." Said Utilities Authority shall have and exercise all of the powers conferred by Chapter 183 of the Laws of New Jersey of 1957,[1] together with any other powers which may hereafter be conferred by law upon municipal utilities authorities within the territorial boundaries of the Township of Hillsborough, in the County of Somerset, New Jersey.

The members of said Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority shall be hereafter appointed by resolution of the governing body of the Township of Hillsborough, in the County of Somerset, New Jersey, in the manner provided in said Chapter 183 of the Laws of New Jersey of 1957.
Each member shall receive such compensation, not in excess of $500 in any one year, for his services as such member, as shall hereafter be determined by said Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority; provided, however, that in the event that any member of said Authority shall also be appointed as an officer, agent or employee of said Authority, such member shall also receive such additional compensation for his services as such officer, agent or employee as said Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority shall determine.
A certified copy of this chapter, after its final adoption in the manner provided by law, shall be filed in the office of the Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey.
