There is hereby created the position of Tax
Assessor for the Township of Little Egg Harbor pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:9-146.
A.Â
Under direction, the Tax Assessor shall plan, organize,
manage and coordinate the various activities of the office in accordance
with state and local laws, rules, regulations, and policies, and perform
such other functions as may be required by N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148.1. The
Tax Assessor shall also perform other related work as required.
B.Â
In order to be appointed to the position of Tax Assessor,
an individual must possess a tax assessor certificate as provided
for by N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148.1.
The Tax Assessor shall be appointed by the Township
Committee for a term of four years commencing on July 1 of the year
of appointment and ending on December 31 of the fourth year, or until
a successor shall be appointed and qualified. A vacancy in the office
of Tax Assessor, other than due to expiration of term, shall be filled
by appointment for the unexpired term.
