There is hereby created the position of Code
Enforcement Officer for the Township of Little Egg Harbor.
A.
Under the direction of the Township Administrator,
the Code Enforcement Officer shall perform varied types of field and
office work involved in seeing that residents, business places, and
citizens comply with various municipal ordinances other than the State
Sanitary Code, State Uniform Construction Code, or any of its subcodes
or the State Uniform Fire Code. The Code Enforcement Officer shall
also perform other related duties as required.
B.
To be appointed to the position of Code Enforcement
Officer, an individual shall possess:
(1)
One year of experience in conducting inspections or
investigations to detect violations of and ensure compliance with
laws, rules and regulations.
(2)
A driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the
operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary
to perform the essential duties of the position.
The Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed
by the Township Committee and shall serve for a term of three years,
commencing on January 1 of the year of appointment and ending on December
31 of the third year, or until a successor shall be appointed and
qualified.
