A. 
The Fire Chief is hereby authorized to establish fire lanes on private property upon which there is located a shopping center, bowling arena, theater, hospital, church, school or similar establishment or building devoted to use by the general public, where the parking of motor vehicles or other obstructions may interfere with the ingress and egress of Fire Department vehicles and the evacuation of persons from buildings in the event of fire or other emergency.
B. 
Such fire lanes shall be of such width and shall be so located as may reasonably be necessary or required for the protection of persons and property in case of fire, explosion or other hazard.
A. 
If any person shall be aggrieved by the action of the Fire Chief taken under this article, an appeal may be filed with the Township Clerk.
B. 
A hearing thereon shall be had on notice to the appellant who shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard. After such hearing, the Council may affirm, modify or reverse the action of the Fire Chief.
A. 
The parking of motor vehicles or otherwise obstructing the established fire lanes shall be prohibited at all times.
B. 
The fire lanes established pursuant to this article shall be posted with signs to that effect.
C. 
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, any motor vehicle operator who is convicted of stopping or standing within a designated fire zone shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not to exceed $25, or parking within a designated fire zone shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not to exceed $100.
