For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
SMOKING
The burning of a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other matter or substance which contains tobacco.
Smoking is prohibited in all areas of all school buildings except as part of classroom instruction or a theatrical production.
Every public entrance to a school shall be posted with a sign indicating that smoking is prohibited everywhere in the building. Such sign shall be erected by the Board of Education. The sign may indicate that the violators are subject to a fine.
Any person who smokes in a Board of Education building in violation of this article is subject to a fine not to exceed $100.
