These rules and regulations shall be known and
may be cited as the "Health Code of the Borough of Bridgeport."
These rules and regulations are adopted for
the following purposes:
A.Â
To prevent the introduction and spread of infectious
or contagious diseases by the inspection and regulation of public
eating and drinking places, the regulation of intercourse with infected
places and the separation of infected persons and persons who have
been exposed to any infectious or contagious disease.
B.Â
To provide for the inspection and regulation of food,
milk, milk products and frozen dairy products.
C.Â
To prescribe rules for the construction and maintenance
of house drains, waste pipes, soil pipes and cesspools.
D.Â
To abate and remove nuisances prejudicial to the public
health.
E.Â
To provide uniform and comprehensive requirements
and regulations for the protection of the health of the residents
of this Borough.
