A. 
All previous ordinances of the Borough of Bridgeport pertaining to the regulation of traffic and parking are hereby repealed.
B. 
The repeal of ordinances provided for in Subsection A above shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or liability incurred in violation of any ordinance or regulation in force immediately prior to the taking effect of this chapter.
C. 
The provisions of this chapter, insofar as they are the same as those of ordinances and regulations in force immediately prior to the enactment of this chapter, are intended as a continuation of such ordinances and regulations and not as new enactments.
A. 
Unless another penalty is specifically provided for in Subsection B below, any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs of prosecution and, in the event of nonpayment of such fine and costs of prosecution, such person shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 days.
B. 
Any person who shall violate any provision of a section listed below shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than that specified for violation of said section and, in the event of nonpayment of such fine and costs of prosecution, such person shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding that indicated for said section.

C. 
A notice of violation of any provision of Article I (§§ 535-3 and 535-4) or Article III (§§ 535-25 through 535-31) or Article IV (§ 535-38A, B, C and F) or Article V (§ 535-47A and B) of this chapter shall be placed on the vehicle parked in violation, such notice to contain instructions to the owner or operator of such vehicle that, if he shall report to the Police Department at Borough Hall and pay the penalty imposed for such violation within 48 hours after the time of such notice, the same shall save the violator from prosecution.

D. 
The Borough of Bridgeport is a local authority under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 101 et seq., and has the authority to regulate or prohibit stopping, standing or parking on its streets and/or highways pursuant to 75 Pa.C.S.A. §§ 6102 and 6109(a)(1). In accordance with the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, any person who shall violate any parking violation set forth below shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than that specified for violation of said parking violation, and in the event of nonpayment of such fine and costs of prosecution, such person shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding that indicated below.
