No person shall solicit from door to door for the purpose of offering
any service, merchandise or article for sale (except between the hours of
9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m). No person shall conduct any such solicitation without
a permit from the Chief of Police, who shall issue a permit, recording the
name and address of such person and the purpose of solicitation, and such
permit shall be worn on the outer clothing of any person engaged in such solicitation.
This section shall not apply to route salesmen taking regular deliveries in
accordance with orders placed in advance by their customers.
No person shall solicit from door to door for a charitable, religious,
political or other purpose not included in the preceding section except between
the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
