A. 
High school and middle school: 8:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Grades 1 to 5: 8:15 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. Kindergarten: 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
B. 
Students are expected to be present five to 10 minutes before the time set for the opening of schools.
A. 
The closing of schools due to emergency, snow or other causes is broadcast over Salem radio station WESX and Boston radio station WBZ. The information may also be obtained by calling 631-0362, a number designated solely for this purpose. Please do not call the Fire or Police Department for "no school" announcements. Such calls tie up the telephone lines unnecessarily.
B. 
Since conditions in the various parts of Marblehead may vary, parents are requested to exercise their discretion in regard to their own children.
A. 
Three- and four-year-old screening. An early identification and screening program is held for children who may have substantial special needs as provided under Chapter 766 and PL 94-142.
B. 
Kindergarten entrance. The minimum age for entering kindergarten shall be five years on or before December 31 of the year a child enters school.
C. 
Birth certificates and medical records. A birth certificate is required by law at the time of registration. In addition, each student must have proof of a physical examination signed by a physician and must also have a measles, DPT (diptheria, pertussis and tetanus), and polio immunization certificate upon entering school. Certain medical and religious exemptions are permitted by law.
The school year for all schools must consist of not less than 180 school days as required by state law.
