Owners of land on which is located an abandoned well or a well in use
shall provide a covering for such well, capable of sustaining a weight of
three hundred (300) pounds per square foot, or shall fill the same to the
level of the ground.
The penalty for a violation of this section shall be a fine of not less
than one hundred dollars ($100.) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.).
