No person shall maintain any theater or motion-picture house or building
in which any theatrical performance or motion pictures shall be given or shown
without first obtaining an annual license therefor as herein provided.
The Board of Trustees is hereby empowered to issue such license to the
person applying therefor, and such application shall give such details and
particulars as shall be required by the Board of Trustees.
Any license heretofore or hereafter granted by the village under which
any theater or motion-picture house is now operating shall cease and terminate
on the 31st day of May and shall be renewed annually thereafter within 30
days prior to the expiration date thereof.

The annual license shall be payable before such license is issued and
shall cover only one place within the village. Any person maintaining more
than one place within the village for the giving of theatrical performances
or the showing of motion pictures shall obtain a separate license for each
place so maintained and shall pay a separate license fee for each such place.
Said fee amount shall be as set by the Board of Trustees by resolution of
a majority vote of its members present at a Board meeting.[1]

Children over the age of eight years and under the age of 16 years unaccompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult companion may be admitted to such theater, motion-picture house or building as described in § 235-1 hereof, upon the following conditions:
A.
Location of seats. That seats shall be provided on the
ground or orchestra floor by the owners, operator or management thereof for
use by such unaccompanied children. No unaccompanied child shall be permitted
in any balcony or box.
B.
Number of seats. A seat in such section of the theater
shall be provided for every such child admitted to the theater.
C.
Hours of attendance. Such child shall not be admitted
to such theater during the time when his or her school classes within the
school district are in session or after the hour of 6:00 p.m.
D.
Matron required. A matron shall be provided by such owner,
operator or management of such theater for the supervision of such children,
who shall give undivided attention to such supervision during the time such
children shall be in such theater. Such matron or supervisor shall be licensed
by the village and shall be paid annually by such owner, operator or management
of such theater. Said fee amount shall be as set by the Board of Trustees
by resolution of a majority vote of its members present at a Board meeting.[1]
