Editor's Note: The current compensation schedule is on file in the office of the Town Clerk.
Effective January 1, 1997, all salaried and hourly positions, whether elected or appointed, will carry a beginning wage with automatic incremental raises for each of the four ensuing years of employment, thus arriving at a final wage. Beginning with the fiscal year 1998, and for each subsequent year ending in an even numeral, those serving in appointed (as opposed to elected) positions who have qualified, by virtue of having achieved the final salary level for that position, will receive seniority pay in the amount of five percent of the final salary. Said seniority pay will be distributed concurrent with the final biweekly or monthly payroll check of the year. Employees shall be entitled to receive said seniority pay upon serving through the 11th month of the year.
Beginning with the fiscal year 1999, and for each subsequent year ending in an odd numeral, those serving in elected positions who have qualified, by virtue of having achieved the final salary level for that position, will receive seniority pay in the amount of 5% of the final salary. Said seniority pay will be distributed concurrent with the final biweekly or monthly payroll check of the year. Employees shall be entitled to receive said seniority pay upon serving through the 11th month of the year.
Those employed in an appointed position at the time of the implementation of this policy shall not receive a salary less than the salary received in fiscal year 1996. There is no provision for a higher salary for elected positions, other than as outlined in salary schedule.
