[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Highland Park by Ord. No. 634 (§ 3-15 of the 1987 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]
No person shall detain or fail to return any book or article borrowed from the Highland Park Free Public Library contrary to the rules and regulations of the library after 30 days have elapsed from the date of posting, by certified mail, return receipt requested, of a notice demanding return thereof, addressed to the person at the last address furnished to the library.
No person shall willfully or maliciously cut, tear, deface, disfigure or destroy any book or other article or any part thereof which is owned by, or is in the custody of such library.
No person with intent to defraud shall register or furnish a false name or address, or use any card other than the one issued to the person for the purpose of borrowing any book or other article from such library.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as established in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III, General Penalty.
