Unless provided otherwise by resolution of the Town Board, not later than October 20 of each year a hearing shall be held by the Town Board to provide consumers with an opportunity to comment upon the rates proposed for each water district, and notice of such hearing shall be mailed to each consumer within the water district at their address on file.
The Town Comptroller shall file with the Town Clerk, no later than 15 days prior to the date determined by the Town Board in § 177-1 for the hearing, a written report and recommendation setting forth the amounts currently charged and the amount of the proposed charge and setting forth the reasons supporting such change, if any. This report shall be available at the office of the Town Clerk for review and inspection no later than 15 days prior to the hearing scheduled by the Town Board.
The Comptroller of the Town of Schodack shall attend the public meeting set forth in § 177-1 to assist the Board and to answer questions that arise from the Board as well as consumers relating to the report and recommendation.
