The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.
A. 
Parking prohibited at all times. No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XII (§ 291-77), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
B. 
Special parking regulations.
(1) 
No person shall park or stand any vehicle on the east side of North Broadway from the driveway of 50 North Broadway southerly for a distance of 45 feet, except for the purpose of dropping mail into the outside mailboxes at that location. A violation of this § 291-16B(1) shall be punishable by a fine of $50.

No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIII (§ 291-78), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIV (§ 291-79), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XV (§ 291-80) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVI (§ 291-81) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVI, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XVII (§ 291-82) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule XVII of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XVIII (§ 291-83) except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.
A. 
Motor vehicles other than commercial vehicles may be parked on any streets or highways within the Village during any hours of the day or night, if otherwise permitted by law, including the period between 1/2 hour after sunset and 1/2 hour before sunrise, without displaying any lights either in front or at the rear of such vehicles.
B. 
The parking of commercial vehicles on the streets of the Village is limited to one hour between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. unless further restricted by § 291-24, Parking of commercial vehicles in residential districts.
A. 
It shall be unlawful to park a commercial vehicle or a noncommercial trailer in a residential area, unless said vehicle is engaged in the process of delivery or the conducting of business to a premises in said residential area or said vehicle, to a maximum of two vehicles, is stored in an enclosed garage or screened completely from the street and abutting residences as determined by the Building Inspector.
B. 
One vehicle bearing a commercial plate but not falling within the definition of commercial vehicle as defined in this section may be parked in a driveway in a residential area.
C. 
A residential area includes any district designated by the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Tarrytown as R-5, R-7.5, R-10, R-15, R-20, R-30, R-40, M-1, M-1.5, M-2, M-3, M-4, that portion of MU where housing has been created, or any other district which may be designated as a residential district. For the purpose of this section, any district designated by Chapter 305, Zoning, shall be deemed to extend to the center of the street abutting.
The portions of private property set forth in Schedule XIX (§ 291-84) are hereby designated as fire lanes, and parking, stopping or standing in these areas shall be prohibited.
The portions of private property set forth in Schedule XX (§ 291-85) are hereby designated as fire zones, and parking, stopping or standing in these areas shall be prohibited.
The locations described in Schedule XXI (§ 291-86), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.

The locations described in Schedule XXII (§ 291-87) are hereby designated as taxi stands/livery stands or taxi/livery holding lanes.
The locations described in Schedule XXIII (§ 291-88), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as bus stops.
