The compensation of each Councilperson of the
Borough of Catasauqua other than the President of Council shall be
set at $2,000 per year.
The compensation of the President of Council
of the Borough of Catasauqua shall be $2,150 per year.
The aforesaid compensation shall be paid only
to members of Council, the President of Council and the Mayor who
were elected subsequent to October 31, 1985. For any and all Councilpersons,
Council President or Mayor elected or appointed prior thereto, the
salaries shall remain the same as established by Ordinance 811 until
the said person or persons take office after the next municipal election
involving that particular position.
This chapter shall take effect immediately and
compensation shall be payable January 1, 1987. It is the intention
of this provision that the raises enacted by Borough Council shall
be effective for those members of Council, Council President or Mayor
so entitled thereto on the aforesaid date and thereafter.
