The position of Supervisor of the Water Department and Sewage Department of the Borough of Catasauqua is hereby created.
The position of Supervisor of the Water Department and the Sewage Department shall be held by one and the same person to be appointed by Borough Council for an indefinite term, to serve at the pleasure of Council, and whose duties shall be such as prescribed by this chapter and as designated from time to time by Borough Council.
It shall be the duty of said Supervisor to supervise the water supply system and the sewage system of Borough of Catasauqua and the employees thereof, and attend to the proper operation, extension and maintenance of all water mains, branches, valves, pumps, pumping houses, wells, pumping, purifying and fluoridating apparatus in conjunction with said water supply system, and attend to the proper operation, extension and maintenance of all trunk lines, branches, valves, pumps, pumping and other apparatus pertaining to the sewage system, the sewage disposal plant and the inspection of any connections to existing lines of the sewer system, and report monthly to Borough Council the condition of the water supply system and the sewage system, together with any recommendations for the collection of delinquent water and sewer rentals and for extensions, repairs or improvements to said systems, and he shall perform such other and further duties as may be prescribed from time to time by Borough Council.
The said Supervisor shall receive such compensation for his services as shall be fixed from time to time by Borough Council.
