No person shall, except in necessary defense of person or property, fire or discharge any gun or any firearm or any air rifle, or shoot or use any bow and arrow, at any place within the Borough of Catasauqua except at an approved range, under supervision of an adult. Provided, an "approved range" shall be a place for which a license for shooting firearms, air rifles or bows and arrows shall be granted by the Mayor, and no such license shall be granted until the Mayor is satisfied that the location and facilities of such range, and the supervision provided, are such as will present a minimum of danger to the public and the participants and a minimum of annoyance to the public.

Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof before the Mayor or any District Justice of the Borough, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than 10 days. Any person found guilty of violating an ordinance shall be assessed court costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees incurred by the Borough in the enforcement proceedings.
