Except as otherwise provided in Chapter 125 of this Code, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to discharge any cannon, gun, pistol or firecrackers, squibs or fireworks, or shoot any slingshot, bow and arrow, crossbow or dartgun at any time within the corporate limits, except by permission of the Mayor and Town Council in writing.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons within said Town to sweep from any business, house or elsewhere, or to empty upon the streets or sidewalks thereof, or to burn the same thereon, any loose paper, hay, straw, grass, rags, lemon, orange, or banana peelings or other rubbish, dirt or trash whatsoever, or to throw water, slop or any filthy or other liquids or substances, or suffer the same to be thrown from his, her or their houses, kitchen or premises, or permit the same to be cast or flow into upon any street, alley or public square or street, or for any person or persons to throw any debris of whatsoever description or kind from his, her or their premises, or allow the same to be thrown therefrom, into or upon any of the streets, lanes or alleys; or for any person or persons to deposit any excretion or commit any like nuisance on said streets, lanes, alleys or squares within said limits.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to ride or drive animals, or drive any vehicle or ride a bicycle on, over or across any sidewalk within the corporate limits of the Town, except where necessary to cross the same in going to and from any lot or premises.
It shall be unlawful for any occupant of any house, owners or agents having charge of vacant houses and lots, and persons having charge of churches and public buildings, to allow the snow to remain on the sidewalks adjacent to such houses, lots, churches and public buildings for a longer period than 12 hours after the fall or drift of snow on any of the streets within the limits of the Town of Oakland, and if any owner, occupant or agent as aforesaid shall neglect or refuse to remove the same within 12 hours, after the fall or drift of snow, from the sidewalks as aforesaid, the Town representatives or their designees shall remove or cause to be removed such snow from said sidewalks, and they may charge the cost thereof to the occupant, owner or agent aforesaid, and said costs may be collected in the name of the Mayor and Town Council as other claims are collected.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to coast or sled on any of the streets, alleys or sidewalks within the limits of the Town of Oakland.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a municipal infraction, subject to the maximum fine established pursuant to Chapter 40, Municipal Infractions.
