[Adopted 7-8-1949 by resolution]
The Supervisors of the Township of Hempfield, County of Westmoreland
and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hereby signify their intention and desire
to organize an Authority under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945, approved
May 2, 1945, P.L. 382, 53 P.S. § 301 et seq.
The Supervisors of the Township of Hempfield are hereby authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the Township of Hempfield, Articles of Incorporation
for said Authority in substantially the following form:

ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION

TO THE SECRETARY OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA:

In compliance with the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945, approved
May 2, 1945, P.L. 382 and in pursuance of a resolution of the Township of
Hempfield, situate in the County of Westmoreland, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
and being a municipality of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, duly adopted
by its Supervisors at a regular meeting thereof held on July 8, 1949, and
entered upon their minutes signifying its desire and intention to form an
Authority, the said Supervisors of the Township of Hempfield do hereby file
Articles of Incorporation for an Authority, together with proof of publication
of notice of intention so to do as follows:

FIRST: The name of the Authority shall be "The Hempfield Township Municipal
Authority."

|
SECOND: This Authority is formed under the Municipality Authorities
Act of 1945.

|
THIRD: No other Authority organized under the Municipality Authorities
Act of 1945 or under the Act approved June 28, 1935, P.L. 463 as amended,
is in existence in or for the incorporating municipality named herein.

FOURTH: The name of the incorporating municipality is "The Township
of Hempfield in the County of Westmoreland, Pennsylvania" and the names and
addresses of its municipal authorities are as follows:

SIXTH: The term of existence of the Authority is increased to a date
50 years from the date of approval of these Articles of Amendment.

SEVENTH: The powers and purposes of the Authority are to include the
following: (1) acquiring, holding, constructing, improving, maintaining and
operating, owning, leasing, either in the capacity of lessor or lessee, water
works, water supply works and water distribution systems in the Township of
Hempfield, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania; (2) acquiring, holding, constructing,
improving, maintaining and operating, owning, leasing, either in the capacity
of lessor or lessee, sewers, sewer systems and sewage treatment works, and
is to exercise all of the powers incident to such Authority, as provided by
the Act, and (3) such other projects as the Township of Hempfield may from
time to time by resolution specify.

EIGHTH: The term of existence of the Authority is increased to a date
of 50 years from the date of approval of these Articles of Amendment.

  IN WITNESS WHEREOF the incorporating municipality, the Township
of Hempfield, has executed these Articles by its proper Officers thereunto
duly authorized and under its municipal corporate seal this 8th day of July,
1949.
