The Board of Township Supervisors of Hempfield Township, County of Westmoreland, determines that this township shall become a participant in the social security system and that the benefits of old-age and survivors insurance shall be extended to its employees and officers.
The Township Supervisors of Hempfield Township of the County of Westmoreland in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are authorized to execute and deliver to the Secretary of Labor and Industry of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the "state agency" charged with the administration of the enabling act,[1] the plan and agreement required under the provisions of Section 6 of said enabling act and the Social Security Act, to extend coverage to the employees and officers of this township, and to do all other things necessary to that end.

The Township Treasurer is hereby authorized to make all required payments into the Contribution Fund established by Section 7 of said enabling act and to establish such system of payroll deductions from salaries of officers and employees as may be necessary to their coverage under said old-age and survivors insurance system.
The Board of Township Supervisors of Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, hereby appropriates from the proper fund or funds of the said township the amounts necessary to pay into the Contribution Fund as provided in Section 4 of the enabling act and in accordance with the plan or plans and agreement.
The proper officials of the Township of Hempfield shall do all things, in accordance with the provisions contained in the plan and agreement, necessary to the continued implementation of said old-age and survivors insurance system.
The Township of Hempfield shall become a participant in the social security system and such participation shall commence as of July 1, 1952.
