[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Stone Harbor as Sec. 4-31 of the 1982 Revised General Ordinances. Amendments noted where applicable.]
It shall be unlawful for any juvenile, herein defined as a person under the age of 17 years, to be on any public street or in any public place between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., unless accompanied by the juvenile's parent or guardian, or unless engaged in or traveling to or from a business or occupation which the laws of the State of New Jersey authorize a juvenile to perform.

It shall be unlawful for a juvenile of any age under 18 years within the discretion of the municipality to be in any public place during the hours when the juvenile is required to be in attendance at either a public or nonpublic school unless the juvenile is accompanied by a parent or guardian or is carrying written permission from the juvenile's educational authority allowing the juvenile to be in a public place.
A juvenile engaging in an errand involving a medical emergency, or a juvenile attending extracurricular school activities, or a juvenile attending activities such as cultural, educational and social events sponsored by religious or community-based organizations, shall be exempt from the provisions of this chapter.

Any person convicted of a violation of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be required to perform community service, and shall be subject to a fine of at least $50, and no more than $1,000. A violation of this section, in combination with conduct by the offender that either causes terror and/or alarm to others, incites violence, hinders or obstructs any Borough employee in performance of its duties, is unreasonably loud and/or boisterous, offends the sensibilities of the public given the time and place of the conduct, and/or otherwise has a deleterious impact on public order, shall constitute a breach of the peace.
