There is established by this chapter and any amendments thereto a Code for the government of the Township of Radnor, a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, pursuant to its Charter,[1] drawn and approved as provided by Act 62 of 1972, which Code shall be known and referred to as the "Administrative Code" and which shall be the rules and regulations prescribing duties of officials and employees, the system of office and the management of the offices, department and institutions of the Township of Radnor.

A. 
Terms defined in the Charter shall have the same meanings when used in this chapter unless the chapter specifically provides otherwise. The following words, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings and significance herein indicated:
BOARD
The Board of Commissioners of the Township of Radnor.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
The acquisition of or improvement to real property or the acquisition of equipment having an expected life of at least five years.
CHARTER
The Home Rule Charter of the Township of Radnor, Delaware County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.[1]
CODE
The Administrative Code of the Township of Radnor as enacted by this chapter and any and all amendments thereto, unless some other code is indicated.
COMMONWEALTH
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
MANAGER
The Township Manager of the Township of Radnor.
SECRETARY
The Township Secretary of the Township of Radnor.
TOWNSHIP
The Township of Radnor.

B. 
General terminology. The singular shall include the plural and the plural the singular; the word "shall" is mandatory and the word "may" is permissive; words used in the masculine gender shall include the feminine; and any word not specifically defined shall be construed according to its common usage.
