As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Includes any vehicle of an arrangement or combination of
two wheels, one following the other, supported by a frame, propelled
by the feet acting upon the pedals.[1]

Persons riding or propelling any bicycle shall observe all traffic
rules of the road applicable to the driver of a vehicle by Title VII
of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York as modified
by Article 34 of said Vehicle and Traffic Law. These include, but
are not limited to, the following:
A.
Persons riding or propelling any bicycle shall observe all traffic
signals and signs and stop at all stop signs.
B.
Every person operating a bicycle upon a roadway shall ride as near
to the right side of the roadway as practicable and shall exercise
due care when passing a vehicle standing or proceeding in the same
direction.
C.
Persons riding bicycles upon a roadway shall not ride more than two
abreast, except on paths or parts of roadways set aside for the exclusive
use of bicycles.[1]

No person shall ride or propel any bicycle on the footpaths
or sidewalks of any street in the City.
