The public trust requires active attendance and participation by members appointed to the various Village boards and commissions. The purpose of this article is to establish mandatory attendance requirements and provide for the penalty of removal for violation of same consistent with due process of law. Members of the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals are covered by Chapters 90 and 120, respectively.
Members shall not be absent from more than four
regular meetings in any given calendar year.
The failure of a member to comply with this
article shall in no way affect the validity of a determination of
the respective board or commission. However, such failure shall be
deemed cause for removal of the member by the Board of Trustees after
notice and an opportunity to be heard with regard to same.
For purposes of this article, alternate members
shall be deemed members of the respective board or commission thereof
and shall be subject to the attendance requirements set out herein.
