GENERAL REFERENCES
Vehicles and traffic — See Ch. 319.
After the effective date of this chapter, no motor vehicle shall be repaired while parked on a public street, street right-of-way, highway or parking lot within the Village of Port Chester.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
REPAIR
Any work on the vehicle generally, except routine cleaning, such as washing and waxing. Included as "repairs" are changing oil, oil filters, flushing radiators, replacing mufflers and all body and engine work.
This chapter shall not prohibit emergency repairs of any motor vehicle which becomes disabled while being operated on any public street and repairs are necessary to permit the same to be driven or towed off a public street. Said emergency repairs must be completed within 24 hours, and failure to remove disabled vehicles shall be as provided in § 323-4.
When any vehicle is left for repair within the Village of Port Chester on any street, street right-of-way, highway or parking lot, said vehicle may be removed by and under the direction of the Port Chester Police Department.
Storage and charges for storage and removal of vehicles shall be as provided in § 319-26.
Notice of removal of a vehicle and recovery of the vehicle by the owner thereof shall be as provided in § 319-26.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25 and not more than $100 for each offense against this chapter.
