Any person, firm or corporation violating any
provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a
fine of not less than $50 nor more than $1,000 or imprisonment not
to exceed 15 days, or both, for each offense; and, in cases of continuing
violations, each week that the violation continues shall be deemed
a separate offense.

Instead of immediately commencing a proceeding
against an alleged offender in a court of competent jurisdiction,
the Superintendent or his agents or employees of the Village of Greenport
may cause to be served or mailed a notice of violation to such person,
stating the nature of the alleged violation and a reasonable time,
which shall not exceed 90 days, to comply. If compliance is effected
during the time therefor, no further charges on such violation shall
be brought.
Any person violating any of the provisions of
this chapter shall be liable to the Village for any loss, expense
or damage occasioned by the Village by reason of such violation.
