This chapter shall be known and may be cited
as the "Town of Saratoga Zoning Regulations."
A.
The zoning regulations and districts as herein set
forth have been made in accordance with a comprehensive planning process
for the purpose of:
(1)
Promoting the health, safety and general welfare of
the present and future residents of the Town of Saratoga;
(2)
Securing safety from fire and flood;
(3)
Providing adequate light and air;
(4)
Preventing the overcrowding of the land;
(5)
Facilitating the adequate provision of community services
and facilities;
(6)
Promoting the goals and objectives of the Saratoga
County Land Use and Development Plan, to conserve those lands within
the Town exhibiting severe physical constraints and to promote and
enhance commercial agricultural activity.
B.
Further, it is the purpose of these regulations to
promote affordable housing opportunities in the Town for all income
levels in those locations free from physical constraints, not in conflict
with commercial agricultural uses and capable of being supported by
essential community services and facilities.
C.
It is further the purpose of these regulations to
promote and enhance the visual quality of the Town of Saratoga.
D.
The zoning regulations have been made with reasonable
consideration, among other things, as to the character of each district
and its suitability for particular uses, and with a view to conserving
the value of buildings and encouraging the most appropriate use of
land.
