It is the intent of this chapter to authorize the code enforcement personnel of the Building Inspector's office of the Town of Stony Point to issue appearance tickets to persons and businesses in violation of ordinances, codes, local laws, rules and regulations enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Stony Point pursuant to § 130 of the Town Law and over which the office of the Building Inspector is given enforcement jurisdiction pursuant to § 138 of the Town Law. The Town Board of the Town of Stony Point enacts this legislation for the purpose of providing for the efficient enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, Chapter 215, Zoning, ordinances, local laws, rules and regulations for repair or removal of unsafe or collapsed structures and other laws and ordinances of the Town of Stony Point.
The code enforcement personnel of the Building Inspector's office of
the Town of Stony Point shall have the power to issue an appearance ticket
as the same is defined in Article 150 of the Criminal Procedure Law.
The power and jurisdiction of the officers is limited to ordinances,
codes, local laws, rules and regulations enacted by the Town of Stony Point
pursuant to § 130 of Town Law and over which the office of the Building
Inspector is given enforcement jurisdiction by § 138 of the Town
Law.
This chapter does not include the power to issue appearance tickets
for violations of the Penal Law of the State of New York.
