The Building Inspector of the Town of Stony
Point, in cooperation with the Chief of Police and subject to an order
by resolution of the Town Board of the Town of Stony Point, is hereby
authorized, pursuant to § 1660-a of the Vehicle and Traffic
Law of the State of New York, to determine and establish appropriate
fire lanes and fire zones in all shopping centers within the Town
of Stony Point. Such order, by resolution of the Town Board, shall
be made pursuant to the written request of either the owner or the
person or persons in general charge of the operation and control of
such area. The Highway Department of the Town of Stony Point, subsequent
and pursuant to such order by resolution of the Town Board authorizing
the same, shall cause to be erected or installed adequate signs, markings
and other devices to delineate said fire lanes and fire zones. Signs,

Signs, markings and other devices erected or installed on such privately
owned premises shall be at the cost and expense of the owner of the
premises, said cost and expense to be assessed and levied against
the owner of record of said premises and collected in the same manner
as any other tax or assessment imposed upon or levied against the
premises.
A.
Any police officer of the Town of Stony Point is hereby
authorized and empowered to issue or cause to be issued a summons
returnable in the Justice Court of the Town of Stony Point for any
motor vehicle in violation of the provisions of this article.
B.
Any violation of the provisions of this article shall
constitute a traffic infraction and shall be punishable by a fine
of not more than $25.
