GENERAL REFERENCES
Community Development Advisory Board — See Ch. 19.
A Council Community Relations Committee is hereby established:
A. 
To have the responsibility for serving as means to stimulate mutual areas of interest and cooperation by the City and its major institutions and the business community.
B. 
To establish a continuing dialogue between the colleges and universities and business community of the City and the Council and the City administration.
C. 
To serve as a catalysis and to establish a formal procedure for exchanging suggestions and wrestling with mutual areas of interest that affect people of our community.
A. 
The Committee shall consist of nine members, as follows:

(1) 
Mayor.
(2) 
One member representative of the Rensselaer County Chamber of Commerce.
(3) 
One member representative of the Troy Business Improvement District.
(4) 
One member representative of R.P.I.
(5) 
One member representative of H.V.C.C.
(6) 
One member representative of Russell Sage College.
(7) 
One member of the majority of the City Council.
(8) 
One member of the minority of the City Council.
(9) 
One member representative of the Troy Industrial Authority.
B. 
With the exception of the City Manager, the following members shall be appointed by the Mayor: the member from the merchants at large and the two members from the City Council.
C. 
Representatives from Russell Sage College, R.P.I. and H.V.C.C. shall be chosen by their respective presidents of each of the institutions, and the other institutions and bodies shall choose a respective member.
D. 
The terms of office shall be for two years or, in the case of the City Council, two years or until their term of office expires, whichever comes first.
A. 
Organization:
(1) 
The Mayor shall appoint a Chair from the membership.
(2) 
The Committee shall meet once a month. The first meeting called by the Mayor will be held on July 30, 1976.
(3) 
The Committee shall make recommendations as to ways of improving economic development.
(4) 
The Committee shall file a report with the City Council at least three times a year.
B. 
Rules: The Committee may establish its own rules of procedure.
