The Town of Warwick hereby enacts the provisions
of the Real Property Tax Law, § 925-d and authorizes the
ninety-day extension for the payment of real property taxes, from
the end of development of real property tax collections for persons
deployed by the military, including Reservists and National Guard
members, as defined for this purpose as a "person who has been ordered
to active military duty other than training, for the period beginning
with a declaration of war by Congress and ending with a date prescribed
by Presidential proclamation or concurrent resolution of Congress
or during any periods of combat designated by Presidential Executive
Order or hazardous duty." Any payment on behalf of such deployed person,
spouse or domestic partner from a real property tax escrow account
shall likewise be so extended consistent with the provisions of said
Real Property Tax Law § 925-d.
This article shall take effect as to Town taxes
levied on parcels within the boundaries of a municipal corporation
upon the enactment of its own authorizing resolution as contemplated
by Real Property Tax Law § 925-d consistent with Orange
County Resolution 226 of 2005.
