Editor's Note: This local law became effective upon being passed
at referendum at the general election 11-8-2005.
The Village Board of the Village of West Carthage, pursuant to the authority
granted under the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York, hereby
enacts as follows.
The Village Board of the Village of West Carthage finds that certain
key elective positions within the Village, such as a Village Mayor, would
benefit from a longer term of office so as to provide greater continuity for
the Village. This position requires a great amount of skill and knowledge;
therefore, there is a need for a longer term. It is the purpose of this article
to expand the term of office for Mayor from two years to four years.
The Village Board of the Village of West Carthage hereby states that
henceforth the term of office for Village Mayor shall be four years.
