Pursuant to the provisions of Paragraph (c) of Section 4 of the Sewerage Authorities Law of the State of New Jersey[1] (Laws of 1946, Chapter 138, as amended and supplemented), there is hereby created a public body corporate and politic under the name and style of the "Musconetcong Sewerage Authority."

The Musconetcong Sewerage Authority is and shall be an agency and instrumentality of the Boroughs of Netcong and Stanhope created by parallel ordinances duly adopted by their governing bodies, and is a sewerage authority as contemplated and provided for by said Sewerage Authorities Law and shall have and exercise all of the powers and perform all of the duties provided for by said Sewerage Authorities Law and any other statutes heretofore or hereafter enacted and applicable thereto.[1]

Editor's Note: An ordinance adopted 8-1-1967 authorized a contract between the Borough of Netcong and the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority relating to the treatment and disposal of sewage and the annual minimum charge to be paid by the borough.
The Musconetcong Sewerage Authority shall consist of six members thereof, and three of such members shall be appointed by the governing body of each borough in accordance with the provisions of said Sewerage Authorities Law.
Members of the Musconetcong Sewerage Authority shall serve without the payment of any compensation for their services as members.
A copy of this chapter duly certified by the Borough Clerk shall forthwith be filed by said Borough Clerk in the office of the Secretary of State of the State of New Jersey.
This chapter shall take effect 10 days after publication thereof by title after its final passage, as provided by law, but shall be of no further force or effect after December 1, 1965, unless on or before said date a parallel ordinance shall have been adopted by the governing body of the Borough of Stanhope.
