[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of New Providence 5-29-1973 by Ord. No. 73-7 as Ch. 5 of the 1973 Code of Ordinances. Amendments noted where applicable.]
All barbershops in the borough shall be closed for business on Sundays and on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
No barbershop shall open for business on weekdays before 7:30 a.m. or remain open for business after 7:00 p.m., except as herein provided. On Saturdays and the day preceding New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, a barbershop may remain open for business until 9:00 p.m. This section shall not be construed to prohibit the rendering of barber services to any person in such barbershop at the hour fixed for closing.
Beauty shops operated within barbershops shall be subject to the provisions of this chapter.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $25 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 days.
