In order to protect the health, welfare and
safety of the residents of the Borough, it is deemed advisable to
prohibit the parking or placing of trailers or camp cars within the
Borough, except trailers or camp cars 18 feet or less in overall length,
which may be parked or placed as hereinafter set forth. The use of
semitrailers for storage, further, is found to be contrary to the
best interests of the Borough of Park Ridge.
As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
Any vehicle used or intended for use as a conveyance upon
the public streets or highways and duly licensed as such, and includes
self-propelled and non-self-propelled vehicles so designed, constructed
and reconstructed or added to by means of accessories in such a manner
as to permit the occupancy thereof as a temporary dwelling or sleeping
place for one or more persons, and having no foundation other than
wheels, jacks or skirtings so arranged as to be integral with or portable
by said "camp car."

A.Â
It shall be unlawful for any person to park, place
or store any trailer or camp car on any street or on any private or
public lands in the Borough were such parking, placing or storing
is for the purpose of dwelling or sleeping in said trailer or camp
car within the Borough.
B.Â
Trailers or camp cars having an overall length of
18 feet or less may be parked temporarily on streets pursuant to applicable
ordinances governing the parking of other motor vehicles within the
Borough[1] and may be parked or stored on private property, provided
that said parking or storing is at least 15 feet from the side property
line and is to the rear of the building setback line of said property.

The use of semitrailers or trailers for the storage
of goods, merchandise, household furnishings or any other items within
the Borough is prohibited.

Temporary variances from the strict requirements of
this chapter may be granted by the Mayor and Council for emergency
hardships, including but not limited to displacement by fire. Written
application therefor shall be made to the Borough Clerk.

Any person who violates any provision of this
chapter, shall upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not
exceeding $500 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days.
