The corporated title of this organization shall be "Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, Incorporated."
The purpose of this organization is to answer emergency and fire calls, to provide ambulance service, to render first aid to the sick, the injured or disabled and to save life regardless of race, color, creed or station in life, and social activities in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and all surrounding territories.
A. 
Its membership shall consist of junior, active, honorary active and honorary.
B. 
The junior membership shall consist of up to 15 qualified persons who are residents of Phillipsburg or surrounding communities, between the ages of 16 and 18, and who are citizens of the United States.
C. 
The active membership shall consist of 50 qualified persons who are residents of Phillipsburg or surrounding communities, over the age of 18, and who are citizens of the United States.
D. 
The honorary active list shall consist of members who have honorably served their active duty. A member must have served 10 years of active duty in order to be eligible. A member must add their age and years of duty and reach a total of 40 to become eligible. This will include junior membership time served. Exceptions may be made for health reasons. Upon eligibility, a letter may be submitted by the member to the Secretary at least 14 days prior to a regular meeting requesting placement on the honorary active list. After verifying said member's eligibility, the request will be forwarded to the Captain for review. Upon his review, the letter will be brought up for a vote at the next regular meeting. For persons of junior or active membership who enter a military or college situation not to exceed four years, all accumulated time of said situation and active status will count towards the person achieving an honorary active status, provided that the person maintains an active interest whenever possible. Special allowance may be granted in time of war when enlistment is for the duration.
E. 
Honorary membership shall be given to persons who have good character, who have rendered service or financial aid to further the organization's cause.
Officers of the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, Incorporated, shall consist of President, Captain, Lieutenants, Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Training Officer, Chief Drivers, Historian and Council Delegates. The Advisory Board shall consist of five members plus President, Captain and Lieutenants. The Board of Trustees shall consist of three members.
A. 
Two regular meetings shall be held each month at a time and place provided by the Bylaws.
B. 
The first meeting in December shall be known as "The Annual Meeting for Annual Reports, the Election of Officers and Other New and Old Business."
C. 
Special meetings may be called by the President, Captain or upon request of seven or more members.
A. 
Amendments to this Constitution shall be submitted in writing at a regular meeting of this organization. Such amendments must be signed by three or more members and read by the Secretary under the heading of new business for three consecutive meetings. If approved by 2/3 of the qualified voting members present, it shall be sent to Town Council for their approval. If approved by Town Council, it shall become part of the Constitution.
B. 
If an amendment does not receive favorable action, it may be brought forward again at a regular meeting after a period of one year.
