GENERAL REFERENCES
Garbage, rubbish and refuse — See Ch. 108.
There is hereby established the position of Recycling Coordinator.
A. 
The Recycling Coordinator shall supervise, manage and direct all programs relating to the recycling of materials which would otherwise become solid waste as required by the ordinance of the Borough of Riverdale[1] and by the laws, rules and regulations of any other governmental entity having jurisdiction over the matter.

B. 
The Recycling Coordinator shall also perform the following duties:
(1) 
Promulgate necessary schedules and instructions.
(2) 
Supervise activities on recycling centers and collection points.
(3) 
Submit to the governing body timely budget estimates.
(4) 
Plan for storage facilities for recyclables.
(5) 
Record and report, as required, volumes of recyclables collected, stored, sold or otherwise disposed of, and make such submissions to governmental bodies as required by law.
(6) 
Inspect solid waste containers to verify compliance with relevant laws.
(7) 
Perform such other duties as may be required from time to time by the Mayor and Council.
The Recycling Coordinator shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council and shall hold office for a term of one year.
Compensation shall be determined by the Mayor and Council by resolution.
