As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
BUSINESS
All corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, proprietorships, individuals and/or the directors, shareholders, partners or owners thereof.
It shall be the duty of all businesses within the Borough of Riverton to comply with the business registration requirements set forth herein. Businesses shall renew their registration each year, no later than January 31.
Each and every business located within the boundaries of the Borough of Riverton is hereby required to register with the Borough of Riverton. Said registration shall be on a form prescribed by the Borough of Riverton and shall include, among other things, the name of the business, its street address, its mailing address, emergency telephone number, a description of the business, the names and addresses of all officers, directors or owners, the date the business was first established, and the area occupied by the business as measured by the square footage of any building or buildings occupied by the business and the lot upon which the building or buildings are located. Said registration shall be filed within 30 days of the availability of the forms from the borough.
In order to cover administrative costs, each annual registration shall be accompanied by payment of a fee in the amount of $10. A certificate shall be issued by the Borough of Riverton to each registrant upon receipt of the fee, which certificate shall be publicly displayed at the place of business.
Any business and/or person found to be in violation of any provision of this chapter shall be fined not less than $50 nor more than $500 for each offense and the Code Enforcement Officer shall enforce the provisions of this chapter.
