The issuance of licenses for the conduct of
raffles and bingo within the municipality, in accordance with N.J.S.A.
5:8-51 and in accordance with the rules and regulations duly adopted
from time to time by the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission,
is hereby authorized within the municipality. All licenses shall be
issued by the Municipal Clerk, as the authorized agent for the Borough
of Riverton, pursuant to such rules and regulations as it may, from
time to time, adopt by resolution for application and approval and
subject to the oversight of the Legalized Games of Chance Control
Commission. The Municipal Clerk may charge the applicants the same
fees as those fees charged by the Legalized Games of Chance Control
Commission. No licenses shall be issued hereunder except to those
religious, charitable and civic organizations specifically authorized
by N.J.S.A. 5:8-51 and when the entire net proceeds of such games
of chance are to be devoted solely to educational, charitable, patriotic,
religious or other public-spirited uses.
Games of chance provided for in this chapter
may be conducted in the Borough of Riverton on any day of the week
including Sunday.
