All the houses and other buildings erected on lots fronting on the streets or highways within the territorial limits of the Borough of Riverton shall be numbered according to the following plan: beginning at Bank Avenue and numbering southeast to the borough limits, and beginning at Elm Avenue and numbering northeast to the borough limits.

The owner of every house or other building erected or hereafter erected on any lot fronting on any street or highway within the Borough of Riverton shall, within 30 days after receiving notice of the requirements of this chapter and the number assigned by the above plan to his or her house or building, which notice may be given by leaving the same at his or her residence or by mailing the same to him or her, cause to be permanently affixed to such house or other building in some conspicious place, the number so assigned to such house or building. The said number shall be in figures not less than three inches in height.
Every person who shall violate the provisions of § 89-2 of this chapter and shall neglect or refuse to affix to his or her house or building the number assigned to it as provided for in said § 89-2, within the time and in the manner directed by said § 89-2, shall be liable to and shall pay a penalty of $5 to be recovered according to law.
