The purpose of this chapter is to protect the health, safety, and welfare
of borough residents and the motoring public, by prohibiting the placement
of basketball sports equipment from being placed or used in the public roadways
and in the public rights-of-way.
Basketball poles, nets, or hoops of any kind are hereby prohibited from
being used in and on any public street, roadway, right-of-way, sidewalk, curb
area, or tree apron within the Borough of Rutherford.
Any person who shall violate any of the terms and provisions of this
chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subjected to a fine of not more
than $50 per offense.
It shall be the duty of the Borough of Rutherford Police Department
to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
