Pursuant to P.L. 1948, c. 264, as amended by P.L. 1948, c. 394,[1] a Municipal Court be and the same is hereby established in and for the City of Somers Point.

The name of the Court established in § 10-1 shall be the "Municipal Court of Somers Point."

The Municipal Court of Somers Point shall exist and function pursuant to N.J.S.A. 2A:8-1 et seq.

The City of Somers Point hereby establishes a requirement that any person applying for representation by the Municipal Public Defender with respect to charges before the Somers Point Municipal Court must pay an application fee in the amount of $200.
The Municipal Court of the City of Somers Point may waive the required application fee, in whole or in part, only if the Court determines, in its discretion, upon a clear and convincing showing by the applicant that the application fee represents an unreasonable burden on the person seeking representation. The Municipal Court may permit a person to pay the application fee over a specified period of time not to exceed four months.
