This chapter shall be known as the "Returned
Check Ordinance of the Township of Stafford."
Whenever a check payable to any account of the
Township of Stafford is returned for insufficient funds, a service
charge of $20 shall be added to the account. The service charge shall
be paid and credited before any other payment on the account is accepted
and credited.
Unpaid service charges shall become delinquent
and, when applicable, a lien against property, to be enforced in the
same manner as other liens.
Any person whose returned checks become chronic,
as determined by the Chief Financial Officer, may thereafter be required
to pay in cash or by certified or cashier's check.
