GENERAL REFERENCES

No person shall operate any type of unlicensed motor-driven vehicle or conveyance, including but not necessarily limited to snowmobiles, two-wheel motor vehicles known as "mini bicycles," "trail bicycles" and "motor scooters," and four-wheel motor vehicles known as "go-carts," under the following circumstances:
A. 
On private property in the township without the express written permission to do so of the owner or occupant of the property.
B. 
On any public road in the township.
C. 
On public property in the township without written permission to do so of the proper public authority.
D. 
In a manner so as to make, create, continue or cause to be made or continued loud, unnecessary or unusual noise so as to disturb or interfere with the peace and quiet of other persons.
E. 
In a careless, reckless or negligent manner so as to endanger, or be likely to endanger, the safety of any person or the property of any other person.
This chapter shall not apply to the following:
A. 
Police and emergency vehicles.
B. 
Any organization of good moral repute which has applied to the Township Committee and been given permission to use specified vehicles on township-owned lands in connection with organized and supervised activities. This permission may be subject to such conditions as the Township Committee deems proper; provided, however, that an insurance policy or a certificate of insurance is filed with the Township Clerk and approved as to amount and coverage of the proposed activities by the Township Committee, and provided further that the Township Committee is satisfied that the township will be held harmless for any such use of its land.

The police shall immediately confiscate the unlicensed motor-driven vehicle operated in the prohibited areas or in the prohibited manner described in § 207-1. The unlicensed motor-driven vehicle shall be returned upon payment of towing charges, storage fees and an administrative restoration fee in the amount of $100.

Any person who shall violate the provisions of this chapter shall be subject, upon conviction, to the penalties provided in § 1-3 of this Code.
